Cactus padded into the barn quietly, lying down near the entrance in a bed of stray pieces of hay. She had a lot to think about, the idea of living in such a group didn't appeal to her, but the Clan cats were surprisingly friendly, and she had been feeling a little lonely. . . .

Trots merrily past, heading towards clan territories.

Cactus sees the fox and flinched back farther inside the barn.
